Candle Care
A few simple habits keep your candle burning clean, even and beautifully for all 50 to 60 hours.
- 01
Mind the first burn
On the first light, let the wax melt all the way to the edges of the jar. This takes 2 to 3 hours and prevents tunneling, giving you an even burn every time after.
- 02
Trim the wick
Before each light, trim the cotton wick to about 5 mm (a quarter inch). A short wick means a steady, soot-free flame and a cleaner glass.
- 03
Burn in sessions
Keep each burn between 2 and 4 hours. Longer than that can overheat the jar and shorten the overall life of your candle.
- 04
Keep it steady
Place your candle on a level, heat-safe surface away from drafts, fans and vents so the flame stays calm and the wax burns evenly.
- 05
Know when to stop
Stop burning once about 1 cm (half an inch) of wax remains. This protects both the jar and the surface beneath it.
- 06
Reuse the jar
Once finished, warm any leftover wax, wipe the jar clean with warm soapy water, and give it a second life as a vase, organiser or planter.
A quick safety note
Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep it within sight, away from children and pets, and clear of anything that can catch fire. Always let the candle cool fully before moving or relighting it.
